5 Best Bitcoin Mining Softwares of 2021

Best Bitcoin Mining Softwares

What is Bitcoin Mining Software?

Where the Bitcoin Hardware mining equipment needed to make is for Bitcoin. Bitcoin mining software controls how the machine works, as well as the integration of Bitcoin with various mining pools. Software is used to manage your miners and improve their performance.

To better understand the different types of Bitcoin Mining Software we will divide them into different categories:

1.ASIC mining firmware

This is the code that applies to the device itself. If you buy a miner from a manufacturer you will be included with their stock firmware. While this firmware is enough to mine Bitcoin, it is not always the best to use. You have the option of using third-party firms provided by other companies.

2.Monitoring and Management Tool

There are solutions that are only used to understand the performance of your miners. This special tool is useful when managing many miners to help ensure that each mining device is efficient and efficient.

3.Mining Protocol

This protocol is the communication bridge between the Bitcoin network and the mining dam. Stratum V1 is the most widely used protocol in mining ponds. Stratum V1 has some flaws, but will be upgraded with Stratum V2. Stratum V2 helps to reduce mining, protect miners from advanced theft and improve communication between miners and mine ponds.

4. Mining Bit-stream

This software handles communication between mining pools and the ASIC firmware. The dam and the miners are able to communicate what work to do and how hashing needs to be used by mining equipment.

With a little knowledge of each type of mining software we can go through all of them in great detail and explore the various software options available.

ASIC Mining firmware

By default your mining hardware comes bundled with stock manufacturer firmware, but did you know that there are other methods that can be used to add other mining features and improve mining efficiency?

Stock Firmware (Manufacturer)

This is the default firmware that will be sent with your ASIC miner. This firmware is a closed source, built-in, firmware from the manufacturer.

This firmware allows you to customize some of the mining hardware restrictions but also prevents some features from protecting their customers from damage to Hardware.

As an ASIC manufacturer, the last thing you want is for your customers to break into their newly acquired equipment.

The manufacturers claim that by keeping the software locked, they can ensure that the miner is “working properly” and is “safe”.

While it can protect your ASIC from injury or misuse, it is very limited in the full potential of the ASIC.

Following the ethos of Bitcoin, you can see that closed-loaded software is a bad way for mining platform manufacturers.

Over the years, there have been a number of incidents that have changed the choice of users away from closed source firmware. Here are a few examples:

Antbleed

In 2017, part of the hidden software called "Antbleed" was installed on ASIC miners created by Bitmain.

It has enabled Bitmain to be able to reach far away from any of their clients' miners at any time.

Bitmain said the "feature" was used as a management test tool, but in reality, this could allow Bitmain to disable any of its clients' miners at any time.

As people begin to learn about this, they are very concerned that Bitmain may be using this "feature".

 AsicBoost

Two researchers named Timo Hanke and Sergio Lerner found out how they could fix existing ASICs to 10%% efficiency.

The invention was patented and available for manufacturers to add to their hardware. It was determined that the largest ASIC manufacturer, Bitmain, used AsicBoost in their hardware and did not share this practical advantage with customers who purchased their equipment.

After criticism and controversy, Bitmain simply cleaned up and released the AsicBoost compatible firmware to their customers.

Checking the firmware of open source software for your mining hardware can help avoid issues, such as these, while also adding efficiency and additional features to your Bitcoin hardware.

3rd party third party firmware

Some companies have found ways to "jailbreak" or unlock the hardware for manufacturers and install custom firmware that allows for more benefits that we will test over time.

While there are some large mining farms that use their proprietary software, there are limited public options for 3rd party firmware.

Using open source software firmware helps Bitcoin to remain at a low level as no single organization relies on Bitcoin security. We will explore the various options below.

Braiins OS + Firmware is being developed by the same European team that created the Slush Pool - the world's first (since 2010) and the longest-standing Bitcoin mining dam.

Slush Pool users have partnered with more than 1.25 million bitcoin shares so far.

Using Braiins OS + firmware allows you to customize your hardware so you can add your hardware to suit your preferences.

This firmware includes state-of-the-art performance autotuning that allows you to increase the hash rate and efficiency of mining.

Use users of the Braiins OS + Autotuning feature can get 10-25% more performance improvement from their miners.

Users of the Autotuning feature for Braiins OS + donate 2-2.5% of their hash rating to Braiins for developer fees. This allows the Braiins to utilize a portion of the efficiency profits and continue to run their business and upgrade the firmware of many mining models.

The performance of their Autotuning feature far exceeds this development cost making it a success / win for customers and Braiins.

Additionally Braiins OS + brings a host of additional features to your miners to maximize customization and extra time. As an added benefit, miners who choose to dig through Slushpool earn 0% for swimming.

MSK Miner

MSKminer was founded by a Russian-based Hive OS team. This firmware offers a 0% swimming pool and a 0% transaction fee when you connect your miner to their Hiveone pool. They offer servers in North America, Europe, Asia and Russia to ensure that your ASICs stay close to their servers and work very well.

  Vnish

Vnish is a major international mining software development project with a highly technical team. Their first firmware was developed for the Antminer S9, and later shipped to ASIC miners from Whatsminer, Innosilicon, and Avalon. To date, their software has been used by more than 1.5 million ASIC miners worldwide.

Monitoring and management tools

Once you’ve chosen a firmware option that meets your needs, stock or a third party, it’s time to look at monitoring and management tools.

While this type of software benefits greatly from large-scale mining operations, known as farms, it can also help people working in a single mine.

Monitoring and management tools are used to provide an overview of your mining operations.

Using these tools allows you to quickly review your working life, ensuring that all miners are working properly and dealing with problems if not.

Just by looking you can see if there are any offline, overworked or unorganized miners. You can imagine how helpful this is with the growing number of miners.

Braiins OS + Manager is a tool that works alongside Braiins OS + firmware, as described earlier.

The tool allows miners to access all the best features of Braiins firmware from anywhere in the world. By packing your miners on different farms, miners can be considered problem-solving and mining suspension changes can be made on the plane from anywhere via an internet connection.

If you wanted to change the settings of all your Antminer S9s you can do it all at once with a few clicks.
